Buyer Beware I recently purchased this from the apple store to be used when I give lectures. On the very first attempt to use it the picture flickered a bit but was otherwis I recently purchased this from the apple store to be used when I give lectures. On the very first attempt to use it the picture flickered a bit but was otherwise OK. When the class ends I walk over to my second lecture and plug in my computer and the adapter and NOTHING happens. I try again and the screen on my mac goes dark then nothing. I have all my students walk back over to the last calssroom and the thing still doesn't work. My first lecture of the year was a real stinker as a result.

We have bought dozens over the past 6 years for our schools and have also bought some from off brand sites. These brand names will all work initially but often give out at the same rate as the off brand dongles (3-6 months). Trying another dongle from a (big online) brand name competitor that has high reviews so fingers crossed.
As we don't require going into high resolution projector displays XGA/WXGA is the most common, or lower resolution so the off brand ones are just as good (aka break as often) as the name brand dongle. Best Answer: A note regarding the 13' MacBook Pro: You CAN use two Thunderbolt displays with the 13', same as the A note regarding the 13' MacBook Pro: You CAN use two Thunderbolt displays with the 13', same as the 15' and 17'. The difference is that if you connect a second Thunderbolt display to the 13' then the internal display is automagically deactivated. The 15' and 17' will drive all three displays with no trouble.
